The Study of Dental Caries (Decayed Teeth) of the High School Graduates through Physical Examination for Employment


Abstract
The writer have conducted the investigation to assess dental caries(decayed teeth) status of the high school graduates when they took their general physical examination for the employment at D bank of Daegu city this year and help them maintain better health control of the teeth hereafter after some questioning their daily dental care.
Of the total number of examinee male and female, the rate of decayed teeth revealed 50.2 %. In distribution of decayed teeth, they concentrated on the 1st and 2nd molar teeth of the left and right side and the rate revealed 86. 3% of the total.
It is very necessary for them to take better care of molar teeth by sparing and protecting them. Those who had experience of dental pain showed 45.6% of the total examinee and 46.2% of them visited dental clinic which shows good number of patients missed an oppotunity of having early diagnosis and treatment of teeth caries.
Dental examination revealed only 21. 1% of the students visited dental clinic when they had dental pain and 73.5% of the students was examined at mass physical examination.
Moreover 73.5% of the students who were warned about their dental caries by the dentists neglected their teeth. Accordingly it brought to our attention than no student ever checked his teeth with dentist to keep for health teeth which resulted in developing dental caries or loosing teeth.
Of the total number of examinee, 2.9% of them brushed teeth three times a day and especially those who do¢¥t brush teeth before bed showed 67. 2%. It is urged that a special effort should be made not to eat anything after brushing teeth in evening.
